Kenya: Tension as Opposition Youth Politician is Shot at his residence in Nairobi


A key opposition politician from the Orange for Democratic Movement (ODM) party was shot dead at the entrance of his residence in the Nairobi suburb of Ruai.

Stephen Odongo Mukabana, 42, a Nairobi Opposition youth leader was reportedly attacked and shot in head and stomach by a gang of yet to be known gunmen who made away with his wallet and phone.

 Police is holding suspects in relation to the murder.

According to the Nation newspaper, Mukabana, was also the chairman of Bamaho Youth Group, a land buying and selling company.

In the past, he has complained of not being recognized as the youth leader and last month he pushed for elections for the Nairobi County youth leadership.
